I have had a ducato based camper van for a couple of weeks (its new)

After filling it up with diesel for the first time, after 25 (ish) miles it dropped some fuel onto my drive. There was a residue of fuel on the tank

The Fiat garage said it had been over filled.

Having cleaned all around the tank I drove another couple of hundred miles this weekend. When I filled up I looked underneath and the tank was still dry.

40 miles later and there was diesel on the outside of the tank again.

I would have thought that any ‘overfill’ would come back through the filler and be on the outside of the van

That leaves the other option of the ‘diesel crew heater’ feed from the tank leaking.

Any thoughts please

Thanks, Dave

I had the same problem, deisel dripping on the driveway, only happened with a fullish tank .......
Got underneath and cleaned it all off then looked for leaks .......
The Fuel tank looked almost new, well the bits I could see did anyway, but there was some corrosion around the flller tube weld. Started tapping it gently and before I knew it there was a 2 inch hole in the top of the tank.

It looks like rain/water collects around that part of the tank.

Good news is ..... its a fairly easy fix (once you've got the fuel out). I found a new item for 84 quid on the net.
