Red face ducato misfire 2.8 jtd

Hi all,
I own a fiat Ducato 2.8jtd motorhome, The Fiat is a 2003 53 Ducato and the problem is that when its underload and gets to 2000 rpm it starts to misfire. When I get over 2000 rpm or below this range it is fine, Does anyone know the problem or has Fiat recalled the 2.8jtd regarding this. The vehicle has 21k miles. any info would be greatly appreciated

Re: ducato misfire 2.8 jtd

check the wiring to the injectors, they are a bit short and can cause problems

normally unplugging them then refitting them with a cable tie to secure

Particularly on cylinder 4. We had ours fail at 100,000 on a 2.8JTD. It eventually ends up running on 3 cylinders. Left un-rectified can break the top front engine mount.

A good Bosch Diesel injection specialist can make and solder on a new plug to the injector if this is the issue.

This can only sometimes give a temporary cure. Particularly on a multi-drop delivery van It gave us 2,000 miles before problem returned
