Re: Ducato reverse judder

Those now coming off the production line do have the modified reverse gear. The problem is that Fiat will not release the chassis number so a new buyer does not know whether they are buying one that has been modified.

I can't answer the point about the modification in Ireland but you could e mail Fiat.

Why is a thread closed ?

Browsing the various forums I came across one on the Ducato which has been closed. Why is this ? Also why is the moderator's Alsatian running away from him ? I wonder if these are related ?
And why have an Alsatian anyway - horrible things ! I think we should be told. (Now that should stir things up).

Re: Why is a thread closed ?

I see it, the Mod even put a note as to why

"This started off as a interesting but like so many others ends up in nothing but arguing, spamming & incorrect information" - thread was then closed

Re: Why is a thread closed ?

The thread in question (Reversing Judder) was started by a member, who basically joined and used FF to get members to spam and lobby other sites.

The problem, IIRC, was that a lot of the info was incorrect.

When questioned about the issue, the thread starter would quite often get abusive and would talk down to other members, which is not really the spirit of the Fiat Forum. He just acted like a spoilt child quoting his £50K motorhome shouldn't have the problem.

Reading the thread in its entirety will allow you to draw your own conclusion.

Judging by the thread starters lack of posts since, it just proved that he used FF as a platform to spam other sites. If the thread starter thinks I'm being unfair, he can just PM me to discuss!!

There are fixes for the judder and Fiat should play ball with any problem vehicles and get them rectified.

Hope this clears some things up, but T14086 the moderator, closed the thread, initially to investigate the goings on within the thread and now, as it probably serves no useful purpose any longer! He moderated!;)

Re: Why is a thread closed ?

My post was the last on the judder thread. In answer to a question from a member I posted the address of Fiat for complaints about judder. The moderator's response said "tut tut" removed the address details and closed the thread. If Fiat owners are unable to ask questions then it seems futile for legitimate answers on a forum such as this to be moderated in my view.

The point is that very many Ducato owners have had less than a satisfactory response from Fiat particularly the 3 litre owners where Fiat have point blank refused to acknowledge the existence of judder. On the other hand 2.3 owners have been offered a fix involving a lower reverse gear, stronger engine mounts and a tie bar but it is only available to those who ask.

Sadly I have concluded that this forum should not be used as a vehicle for bad publicity so be careful what you say and how you say it.

why? because of 2 reasons;

1) Basically its nothing to do with you and in no way to I have to justify my decision(s) to anyone except forum admin, which I have done in a full report.

2) incorrect facts/spamming, this was clearly stated in the judder thread (now merged)...did you read it all?

By the way its a german shepherd not alsatian which they are no longer called and haven't been for many years. As for 'horrible things' they are actually easy to train,loyal/protective and very intelligent......unlike some people ;)

(Now that should stir things up)

mmmm very amusing, may I suggest a hobby or even a jigsaw

read the forum rules (which you electronically signed when joining)

Might I also point out (again in the forum rules) that if you have a complaint PM me or another moderator if you dont trust me and think that I am censoring the forum.

Sadly I have concluded that this forum should not be used as a vehicle for bad publicity so be careful what you say and how you say it.

depends,if the information is correct and useful to fellow owners then thats fine, sadly (as I already stated in the 'judder' thread) there was alot of misleading information (not from yourself evans88) and spamming of the thread. Enough to close it until some more 'facts' can be brought to light which was also stated in the thread.
