Hi, I have a Fiat, with Hymer Body. The Speed Dial is in KM. I want it to show MPH. Its not required for the MOT. But in law in the uk, it must show mph, if its a sticker, it must be visable in the dark, ie: when driving at night. Can anyone help, or give any advice please
Kind Regards Kate

hi kate, im looking for a used lhd fiat based motorhome like a hymer or something. why you need to change the speedo? did you buy it in uk? do you know if you need to change the headlamps as well?

Morning everyone, I have got a hymer camper based on LHD Ducato which i bought last year which has a kph speedo. I haven,t changed or marked it as yet although i have thought about it. I looked on e-bay and did see a speedo/dashboard cluster which looked identical and only had £5 on it and 1 bid when the auction had almost finished. I almost went for it but then thought about it and having already had an electrical problem in that area which, when the garage fixed it, also resulted in a broken speedo cable i decided to let sleeping dogs lie and put up with kph. Messing about with electrics that work on a 1992 van is probably tempting fate methinks? To be honest i don,t really find it a problem my old girl is so slow i think a speeding ticket most unlikely!!! ( he hopes!!) Although when i get round to it i am going to mark the speedo.

Hi You can get overlays which just adhere like the tax disc holders on the front of your windscreen. Try Hymer U.K. the're not expensive. Alex.

simpler alternative get a sat nav that displays speed all the time more accurate. I have 2 both garmins the best on the market regards smerc190e

I keep meaning to mark mine up in some way. Generally, as has already been said my motorhome is so slow its not a real worry. I do tape the lights up to comply with the uk law though.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. You simply need to change the dial plate and Lockwood Dials do one for the Ducato for £29 see www dot lockwoodinternational dot co dot uk

I was going to get one for our 2004 LHD Hymer C524 but never bothered and you get used to the 2 thirds mental conversion and you don't need it for the mot. Also have never bothered converting the headlights and simply apply Eurolites (the ones for lhd cars travelling to the UK (off ebay)) to get it through the mot then save them for next year.
