This subject has probably been aired many times,But I think if a concerted effort were to be made by all owners of Ducato,s ,by E mailing :worship:Haynes at , and as I have and keep doing, Request they bring out a Workshop Manual for the Ducato , my last reply from :worship:Haynes I have tried to post here but the rule whereas you can only publish URLs when you have five or more post accepted prevented my doing so, but the gist was the Vehicle had to be out of Warranty (over three years old) has to be DIY compatable and Information available from the manufacturer, and most importantly,it has sold more than 50,000 units. I think the Ducato is only short of one of the points that of not being out of Warranty as yet ,but I still think its worth the effort of e mailing them, What say you , Corky(y)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

Thanks T14086, its a comforting thought knowing you there to ask for help, and I have seen how helpful you really are looking back over the forums ,its just that every vehicle I have ever owned I have always had a Haynes Manual to fall back on, especially the wiring diagrams ,its a handy book to have with you when touring for any faults that may crop up, One can only hope Haynes will see the potential earnings from bringing out a manual on the Ducato after all Sevel must produce over half the Chassis Base,s for Motorhomes sold in this Country, so I just thought Public demand (if it is there ) would convince Haynes to get off the fence and go to print with a Manual, Many Thanks Corky

I have bought a CD workshop manual off e bay but I find its not as easy to follow and there are parts/systems not covered, as well as was in the Haynes manuals, plus the fact you could have your Haynes opened on the page you required while doing the job , with the cd you either print the page off or keep dashing in to view it again on the computer,

I see that Auto Books Direct (you'll have to google it!) do a range of Russek manuals. The pricing seems good and it looks like UK P&P is included up front!
Has anybody else used Auto Books Direct?

I've heard that the Peter Russek Pocket Mechanic manuals are very good - anybody else got one (before I bung £17.00 out!)

Thanks to CANBUS electronics, the haynes manuals are becoming a bit like a chocolate fireguard. the one for my vectra certainly is.

Unless you want to do an engine stripdown etc or good old fashioned procedures, many of the electronic issues and glitches are not covered.

My Vectra manual doesn't recognise many of its features purely because they are ran through networks and can only be enabled or problems diagnosed using complex OBD readers.

Also, despite being a popular chassis (Sevel producing Citroen, Fiat and Peugeot bases), many are sold as vans and trucks. Despite having a Fiat Manual for our 2.8JTD panel van, it also suffers from not covering nowhere near enough to tackle complicated jobs.

Also Most Light Commercial operators do not have time to tackle servicing or maintenance now. That is certainly the case with our business.

Haynes simply wouldn't have the demand to justify a good old manual!
