Ducato ash tray

My Ducato based motorhome ash tray has lost the ability to stay closed, it appears to be strained or broken.I had a quick look but can't seem to get it out of the dashboard.Can anybody advise, is it one of those jobs that requires half the dashboard to be dismantled ?.
