2.8L Ducato

Hi - just wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2.8 diesel Ducato that stops for no reason. It seems to be electrical, but as it is an intermitant problem, I cannot be positive. It can run for a few hours / minutes, at travelling / idling speed or hot / cold and then simply stops. Sometimes it will start again, but other times it will not. Any pointers would be appreciated as I have run out of ideas & a little sick of pushing it. Thanks

only fault I ever heard of like this was the fuel cut off solenoid on the diesel pump, but that was on a basic 1.9, have you checked the wiring to this?
