Hi, I have a 2005 Ducato that I wish to fit e/windows and central locking to. Does anyone here have any recommendations as to kits/manufacturers etc. and any experiance if it's a whopper of a job?

Thanks!

Hi
I fitted a central locking kit to my 2001 Ducato,it was quite easy really.I bought one of those universal kits from Ebay. It never let me down !
After that i had an alarm fitted to it and then the central locking became remote control. The only problem i had fitting the central locking was doing the side loading door.I used the plunger switches from an old Fiat Punto's rear tailgate. They connect when the bootlid is closed ,so i fabricated it to fit the side loading door to then work the central locking .Now the door slides shut and connects. Its a similar principal to what is fitted to Transit side loading doors. As for electric windows ,i never bothered with that.I wasn't sure what kit to go for.
Hope this helps.

Checkout the original equipment parts, it may be possible to fit them easily if the wiring harness is already in place. Otherwise, you could consider http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=12303&doy=9m7 . For central locking, these kits are not that difficult to fit and very cheap!
I've only ever seen relatively expensive kits for lecky windows so I'd go for the Fiat parts. Some of the aftermarket ones are just like a wiper motor in a pod that fits in place of the winder and is pretty naff IMHO.
