Hi all,
This is my first post to this Forum, hope someone can be of help.
I have a 2004 Ducato 2.8jtd Motorhome (bought from new) which has done 62k kms.
Just had it in for its 1st MoT and annual service, the garage reckons theres a slight leak around the diesel fuel pump, which they reckon will need replacing. They reckon the cost of this will be about 6-700 quid. Contacted the dealer we bought this thru and they reckon they never heard of a problem of this type before. Have searched previous posts on this forum and dont seem to be anything there either.
Am going to see about a second opinion but would like to know is this a common prob or am I one of the unlucky few?
Any help would be grateful.
Brian
PS Is it easy to get at the diesel fuel pump and wereabouts is it?

Attached are thumbnails of the Injection pump & its location
As for whether this is common ????? surely the seals could be replaced or something rather than the complete pump assembly I would be checking as to where exactly the pump was leaking from.
In the first pic the numbers 2,4 & 8 are seal gaskets
& 7 is a pressure regulator & 9 is a valve.
Hope this helps

Tks for that, if it stops raining long enough I'll have a look under and see what I can identify.

Brian,

I would suggest that you take the vehicle to a reputable diesel injection system specialist rarther than the Fiat agent, these people would be able to identify the source of the leak and hopefully recommend a more cost effective solution. I did this will my old diesel VW transporter and received excellant service.

I have sorted the fuel leak by taking off the actuating lever and putting a couple of o rings on the shaft, replacing the lever this pressed down the orings therefore sealing the leaking fuel.:)
