End march 2007, having 32000 km, the injection fault lamp lights.
To make a long story short, there is a problem with the connector on cylinder 4.
After several tentative by Fiat and/or Iveco technicians, the fault come back after 1500 km.
This should be a known issue by Fiat (only cylinder 4).
The ultimate solution , according my dealer in Belgium, should be the replacement of the motor wiring coming from the electronic box.
I would like to know if there similar experiences, and their solutions.

Many thanks

Felix

You have probably sorted this by now, but if not I had the same problem on a 2004 ducato and the garage said it needed a new wiring loom, cost £350 + fitting. The cause of the problem appeared to be that the cable tie on the injector connector plug was too tight, causing the wires to become disconnected. The solution was to remove the cable tie, problem solved, at least it has been for the last 5000 miles. It worked for me and may be woth a try. As an alternative, if you unravel the insulation, there are just two wires, get another injector plug from the scrapyard and cut and fix. This seems to be a common problem on 2004 Ducatos, usually on no 2 cylinder.

Having now read this and other postings, I realise that my earlier posting (last week) reporting squealing noise and the "turbo boost" light showing under load , is actually the injection light showing under load. I am now beginning to consider that my 2003 2.8 jtd has a similar injector connection problem. If I could ask you both what other symptoms manifest themselves on your vehicles when the injection light appears, do you misfire, lose power or what? How did you identify which connection was at fault, is it a dealer diagnostic requirement. In my case the engine runs very well with no obvious symptoms appart from the arrival of a light squealing noise under heavy load and then the appearance of the injector light.
