I've had a quick search but haven't found an obvious (Doblo) answer to having just a single remote key. So aside from giving my dealer £80ish is there an easy, cheap way to have an extra remote (or two)?

1)Can I buy duplicate keys anywhere for peanuts?
2)Can I just buy remote fobs and program them on the car?
3)Are all the Fiat type 2 lock/remote systems compatible?

Thanks

Rob

I could see my question was getting lonely here on its own in the forum so I thought I add the little info that I collected since I posted.

Spare keys are available (Abacus Alarms) and cost £50. The latest systems aren't Meta based so there's not a lot of expertise about so a dealer would probably be required to program it (~£30) and of course the key blade itself would need cutting (~£15?) so all in all it adds up to close on the £100 suggested by the dealer... :bang:

The guy from Abacus did offer a positive spin, there were plenty of other cars around which would cost spectacularly more e.g. Mercs are well over £200!

On elast thought I had was that since all I wanted was a second remote had anyone considered adding a second Meta receiver relay in parallel to the current CL system and just using the extra remote blobs that come with them?

Ours had an alarm fitted from new and, as you say, we now have 2 remotes. Good deal in London, where we need the security, but an expensive option if you live in a relatively crime free area!

Yeah I've got a Cobra alarm, and as you point out the Meta system runs alongside the normal key fob with no problems. I use the blob keyring to unlock/lock/panic alarm and then use the key only for the ignition and they both still work.

Hello OZZIE, you yourself you have installed the alarm? that cable colors have your vehicle open-to close?
