Hello doblo people,

Finally found some Doblo forum! (y)
I have a 1.9 JTD SX Cargo for a year now and still lovin' it!

I have a question (like a dozen! :p ), Can anyone tell me if you can reset you car by unplugging the battery? Someone told me, but does it help solving any problems or errors?

Sometimes my central locking is iffy and the car locks when driving it (at first brake). Problem is that it's not al the time. And another thing is that the indicators sometimes flash (all, like hazard lights) after locking my car. Anyway some electrical problem of some sort I think. hence my question about the resetting thing.

Greetings!

Sorry, bit enthousiastic but I think I found some answers in the Punto threads, same engine I think.

Hello and welcome to the forum (y)

Not quite sure on the resetting thing, a few batteries have been swapped probably but I doubt it would actually "Reset" anything other than the clock on the dashboard.

As far as the lights flashing after you lock the car - they should! Mine even before I had the alarm fitted used to flash once for open and twice for shut, now they do the same even with the alarm fitted. The only time they never flashed for me was if I left a door open and the cetral locking re-opened for you to shut that door.

Hi Thanks for the welcome.

I ment that they keep flashing. :) So I go inside and after a while some neighbour comes at the door telling me my car is flashing. (all the lights, like when you have car trouble and you use them).
Maybe I just try to disconnect the battery for a night and see if it makes a difference. Can't do any harm I think?

Next month I hope to finally have some time to spend on my doblo. Fitting new door and dash speakers, radio, and phone stuff. I'm drivin around with a detached door interior for months now...

Ahh yes I see, we call them 'Hazard Warning Lights' for the appropriate reasons. Perhaps you have a loose connection on the big red switch on the dash? Does it ever happen when your driving?

I wouldn't recommend disconnecting the battery for that long as the car uses an ECU to control fuel injection and they can malfunction if left unconnected to power for longer periods of time. This is more appropriate to sensitive units fitted to newer BMW's and Mercedes but I'm not 100% sure of the effect on your Doblo.

Thanks for the warning. I will see what to do.

Cheers for that T14086, they go on at us in work all the time when we change batteries it has to be disconnected for no more than 30 seconds to I assumed leaving it off overnight would cause some trouble. Now I know (y)

Mainly for hard to remove CAN faults(even though system appears ok),often suggested/required to leave overnight.
Probably what your work is refering to is radio codes /remote programming /window programming /locking sychronization(ohh....big word:D )etc

Sorry I'm a noob and my tech English isn't that good but what is CAN faults?

Ok, I get it. :p
I had my car serviced a few weeks ago and they couldn't find anything so I think I will unplug for a night.
Doesn't it effect my programming, in a way that the car has to be programmed again for locking etc?
Very nice to have a doblo forum now! (y) thanks!

and can somone let me now if it is a problem that i get the batt of for a night on my doblo from 2004
i mean if there are no problems for the codes?

Hi,
The only problem you may have are the radio which will want the security code entered. Don't think it applies to the Doblo, but on some cars with electric windows you have to reset them. This is easy, you just run threm down, then up, holding the up button down for 20 seconds after it reaches the top. Disconnecting the battery for half an hour or more can help with some issues. One thing it does on most cars is to reset the "learning" of driving style, fuel quality and sensor response that the ECU does.

thanks,

what about the starting block code on the car?
is that stil on after?
