Hi to all Doblo owners had my new 06 Cargo 1.9jtd multijet SX for 2 months now and have to say very impressed. Got rid of my 53 Laguna 2.2 dci as needed more space for the business.

Got it in Steel Grey with matching bumpers extra aircon and airbags with the SX trim its got everything my Lag had but a dam site cheaper. List price with extras is 14200 got it factory ordered in March for 10050 from Warrington Caledonia Fiat, so well pleased with the deal.

Have done 3000 miles allready and its been a real gem engines getting better everyday as just about starting to loosen up carries loads with ease , comfy ride great visability etc etc. Been getting 44 mpg on average this month so increasing nicely. Read that reliabilty is pretty good which is abonus as Laguna was poor.

Thought I'd post here as Commercial section is a bit thin on the ground:D and not many Cargos specced up exist.

No probs so far, happy new Doblo owner.

PS. we all now about the stigma looks thing about them, but I think shes a real looker ( for a Fiat van !! )

Hey Chris,

Welcome to the group. I'm sure Ozzie didn't mean to snub you by not welcoming you straight away. :p :p :p

Glad you like your new tool. My missus has a similar Cargo (1.9 JTD SX with air con) and she loves it. Treat it with care, keep it regularly serviced (preferably by a good independant garage using Fiat parts) and it'll do you proud. She normally averages about 45/46mpg - don't believe the onboard computer, they seem to over estimate how well you're doing.

If you have any problems you'll find someone on here will most likley be able to offer you some constructive advice - either from experiencing the same problem or being in the trade.

As Ozzie would say

LUKHYGO!

(Ozzie is our mascot, he's a bit of an old woman when driving but other than that he's OK......... oh he's also got a fixation about uprated brakes...... and LOUD stereo systems..... and.....)

Can't realy believe I like her so much so its been a real pleasant surprise if the reliability holds out I'll be well chuffed

I have a good Independant that I use how are Fiat with the warranty Issues even when using Fiat parts? I know its law now but some manufactures get a bit arsey!

Hello Chris! Nice to have you here on the forum :) I hope that you'll enjoy your time here and find you can help out some poor sod with a problem :p

As you can see, I'm being picked on at the moment by the other members of the Doblo section, but it's all a good laugh and we don't take it too seriously (Niall, watch out! :D there's nothing wrong with my uprated brakes or my loud sound system!)

We all agree the Doblo is a great vehicle :) I have the passenger version but I use it like a van most of the time :p it's great, and I get the p*ss taken out of me a lot for driving it (Due to my young age ;)) but I don't care I like it and so does everyone who gets in it :D

Fiat are complete bunch of w@nkers re: warranty, in my experience. View anything you get them to pay for as a bonus.

Their starting point seems to be "We're not paying, we've had got your money, go and f##k yourself". Others on here will disagree but that has been my experience.

The 'unlimited mileage' warranty IS limited by mileage - Mrs_G had her wiper mechanism fall apart within the warranty period and they wouldn't pay because at that time the van had 128,000 miles on it. I paid to have a new mechanism fitted as it would have cost more to have the van off the road, not earning, and argue with them.

Like I said, a bunch :tosser: :tosser: :tosser:'s.

I'd now like to enter into my usual rant about how I'll never ever ever buying another Fiat vehicle, good though the Doblo is, and how we (Mrs_G and self) have put off a few dozen potential buyers who have enquired about her Doblo ("Its a great van with 5h1t backup, buy from another manufacturer etc.")

Aaahhh! thats better......

PS. Did I mention their warranty sucks?

So it looks like nothing new then sounds like the same sorry tales my ex fellow Renault colleagues were used too.:D

I think most manufacturers are the same they don't give a stuff!

Thanks ozzie for the welcome hope I can be some help on here pretty knowledgable but new to the Fiat fold so will have to research.

Having tread the fiat boards though, the problems seem very few compared to the Renault site serious turbo failures gearboxes endless clutch issues electrics the list was endless with Renaults, the main reason for buying a Doblo was its, not Fiats reliability rating that enticed me into buying this visually challenging vehicle.

With my Laguna I had a PSI powerbox fitted which was excellent have enquired to PSI for one for the new Multijet 105bhp but it will be a few months yet but should up power to 130bhp and torque to 250Nm. Will definetly get one when out as transformed Laguna, also increased MPG by 5%.

Just thought I'd mention it if anyone needed a bit of extra out of there JTD's

I've been thinking about getting something done to mine when I can afford it, mostly just to increase fuel consumption and to add some whelly when I really need it :)

I've heared Angel Tuning who advertise here are pretty good :)

Don't know about them but would recommend PSI without hesitation simple to fit traceless once removed bags of extra welly and better fuel consumption due to increased torque. Also the 100bhp jtd in your doblo should tune easily upto 130bhp without risking engine and turbo wear. Remember all these Diesel turbo's are undertuned from the factory to maintain emissions and poor servicing from owners.

If your thinking of upping the braking ie Green stuff pads give them something to stop by upping you untapped reserve in your JTD.

Not a speed freak or anything but the Doblo fully laded could always do with a bit extra thats how my vehicles are most of the time.

Finally someone who isn't telling me off for upgrading my brake pads :D and like you say, all the more reason to upgrade the power ;)

Thank you! Thank you! :)

If you want a free trial to see how remapping can transform a Doblo drop us an email. We run these ourselves including the latest facelift version so know them very well. We have tuned two this week for very happy customers :-D

We have some very interesting stats as well from testing a few years ago when these came out - that was a real blast, wellying one of these around in various stages of tune for a week or so :-D

Run 1 (PRE TUNING)

mph s ft
10 1.38 7
20 2.47 32
30 4.42 104
40 6.31 202
50 9.32 398
60 12.29 638

Stage 2 (POST TUNING)

mph s ft
10 1.21 7
20 2.12 27
30 3.64 84
40 5.08 157
50 7.31 305
60 9.48 481

We are getting an additional 5.4mpg on average out the latest van as well since it was "sorted"

The problem with a tuning box of any make (PSI, Tunit, Dragon) is all they are is a box of resistors that are used to increase your fuel rail pressure. This is great when there is no real alternative, but to get the power from them that they quote you have to turn them up (move the jumpers or twist the screw) and then they start to smoke very badly as of course all they are doing is dumping more fuel into the bore. We used to sell these for cars that couldnt be remapped but they were all so crap we dropped them as they were ruining our reputation!

Thanks, I have heared that you guys are very good, only problem is I'd go for it just no money :( poor student you see! But, If I do keep it when I get my proper job, I'll certainly bring it down to you :)
