Hi, just had an MOT done on my 2008 1.4 doblo, it had the following work done- one rear shock absorber and 4 wheel alignment. I got the car back and noticed as soon as i went to parallel park that the steering was very heavy taking a lot of effort to turn, as soon as I applied pressure to the accelerator it went light and back to normal.

I have checked the fluid level and done full lock a few times but the problem persists. I took it back to the garage they can't see anything and say they have not caused it.

Does any one know what else I can check?

Many thanks

Hi,

I'm assuming your steering is controlled by a steering pump, either driven by belt or a gear.

It might be the case that the steering pump is worn, and will only function better at higher rpm.

Any kinks in the piping would be needed to be checked, particularly in the hydraulic type.

I assume you have noticed no leaks, along the piping or at connection points.

John
