hi,

I'm looking for a Doblo I have a low budget and in my range doblo are High Mileage.

There's a lot of 1,9d but I see a lot of people that say it is a bag engine is it true ?

I'm looking for 200k 1,9d.

hi meme, sorry no ones replied mate, so I will, these engines go on seemingly forever, ask devonitopia on here, his and missus are over 200k and counting, hell corroborate I'm sure, a mechanic in Glasgow was on a forum once with over 500k, I'm not joking!!, main thing is timing belt/water pump, mines on a mete 111k never missed a beat, why do you say you cant afford a low mileage doblie they're v reasonably priced, what's your budget ill try and give you an idea. Best wishes Neil

1.9 JTD
The one we are running is on 140k the other one was on 160k cant remember the first ones mileage but over 100K, timing belts & water pump a must the first one heater plugs, thermostat housing & turbo pipe.
This one turbo at 120k & exhaust no other engine problems.+ ABS, & rear shocks
Wishbones, tires, rear springs sagging on all 3 we owned.
Central locking played up on All of them, they needed rear spring helpers at 50K the Fiat Rubber things ( bump stops\spring helpers ) a joke
Would say engine is the more reliable bit, so far touch wood.
The lumbar support on all broke at around 80K striped seat to look  did not bother on the other 2
I do run it very hard 42\5 to a gallon tried gentle not much difference, it is not chipped
We change oil & filter at 6000 mile intervals, fuel filter at 1200 all way's have don't care what it says in book

Thnaks for your reply but I'm interested in the non turbo 1,9d :( can't find anyone that own one too have a good feedback.

I have a Doblo 2004 plate with the 1.9 JTD and approaching 201k. Its remapped and has EGR delete. Engine can not be faulted. Did cambelt recently so it can keep on trucking for me. The ultimate carry-everything utility vehicle for me :slayer:

Thanks but i'm not looking for the 1,9 JTD. I'm in too the 1,9D.

Hi,
The 1.9D was only fitted to 2006 and earlier vehicles so you are looking at a 10 year old commercial, finding a good ten year old with any engine may be hard. A non turbo direct injection engine will do 200,000km but it wil be very tired. The engine in a D will have been worked harder than a JTD as it has 40% less power. Even when new a JTD is going to be a better drive than a non-turbo indirect injection and probably give better fuel consumption.
In your apparent budget range you will just have to look at all available vans and pick the best one regardless of engine.

In my country there is a lot more 1,9D then JTD's to buy second hand and i prefer non CR diesel to run vegetal oil so fuel consumption is not really an issue.

Driving experience/ power is not an issue for me.

It's all about the reliability.

I've had a lot of 15+ year old car that last long but i don't know this engine.

I had a 1.9 JTD with 80 HP in a Punto 2.

I scrapped the car at 306,000 KM, almost 190,000 miles, because it needed too much money to keep it going. But none of the stuff that wasn't working had to do with the engine. It was the car was basically worthless 11 years later and wasn't worth putting any more money into.

I also had an Idea with the 100 HP 1.9 JTD and that one was ON FIRE!!! 207 KmH top speed in Germany!!! It got totaled in an accident otherwise I might still be driving it.

i hade company car fiat doblo 1.9d. terible car oil was leaking through all seals :D. and it was super slow. in the end we scraped the car :D

I got a 1.9jtd 8v that has over 320000km pushing about 230hp and 540nm to the wheels....no issues so far so i would say it is a great engine.
