Hello again all..with regards to my post about handbrake light flashing off intermittently.. soo I took it to my local garage as I wasn't entirely convinced the first garage I went to wasbeing straight up honest with me, the second garage has taken a look at it all the discs pads and fluid are all completely fine and as I was told by previous owner still like brand new and they can't see anything wrong with the braking system whatsoever and I cannot see any change or loss of function whatsoever either just the warning light coming on for short periods of time then going off and coming back on.. does anyone have or have had a similar problem please or is there a sensor I should be checking or something? Like I said no change in braking system whatsoever and two garages have said it's fine and "to keep an eye on it" I'm at the end of my tether so any help or advice greatly appreciated [emoji1303]

Not personally familar with the Ducato, but I'd imagine there's some kind of electrical switch under the handbrake mechanism, chances are it's gotten a bit sticky or there's a wiring issue.

Thank you for your response (again) lol much appreciated I only passed my test and have been driving since December and I bought the van off a good friend who has looked after it since he bought it brand new in 2005 and it's been well maintained and serviced regularly so this fault is a pain to say the least as I travel around the country a lot for my work and am not home that often to actually have it off the road for too long will definitely pass your advice on to the garage to see if they can rectify it.. and as a newbie driver and fiat owner then no doubt I shall call upon the forums services more often than I'd like to lol.. thanks again

Had this issue on another vehicle (Nissan) which ended up being Coca-Cola contaminated hand brake switch. A can of brake cleaner, some dielectric grease solved it!

Sometimes I don't fully release the handbrake which can cause the light to flash a bit.
