hi could someone please give me some advice,
2 days ago my speedo stopped working, then it suddenly worked for about 2 mins
then today it sprang into life and then stopped and started intermittently

its a non abs model so could it be the speedo sensor or a loose connection

YES....

the sender - at the rear of the gearbox..
I'd unplug - clean connections and plug back in..,
see if it's improved,

there is always a chance it's the dashboard..
