My works Vauxhall Combi died on the m6 before Xmas. They call it a Vauxhall, but we know it's a Doblo really.
It's not even due an MOT for another 6 week. But sadly. The damage is looking fairly terminal unless Vauxhall offer up a new engine in good will.
It'd done 80k and Halfords serviced it 1100 miles before it gave up. According to Vauxhall, the bottom end is a complete mash up due to an unknown cause of oil starvation. It also needs a new pulley and a new turbo. On that basis a new engine is the more sensible and cheaper route.
If Vauxhall don't offer anything, then I'm fairly sure the van will be dismissed as a write off by the finance company.
I really don't want the spare Berlingo sat in the yard....
