Hi all.My fiat doblo diesel 1.3 07 plate has been losing power and screaming when accelerate.Got everything cleaned even all exhaust system has been done.Turbo is working and although code p0238 is coming up in was going to get the pressure sensor done but the garage said I am needing a new turbo.I have been checking all posts related on here and told the garage this but no luck. When you accelerate there is black smoke aswell which also comes out of the turbo. Should I just scrap this as it sounds like too many issues.

I had this code on my old vectra. It was a split hose from intercooler to intake.

The code is related to boost pressure not being in specified limits when MAF reading taken into account of how much air has been drawn into the intake before the turbo.

Look for splits or cracks in any of the pipework from the turbo to the engine's intake manifold. Black smoke and screaming noise would indicate a possible boost leak somewhere along this pipework.

The black smoke is due to overfuelling, ECU is fuelling for air amount being drawn into the engine (maf reading), and not taking into account some of that air being wasted through a boost leak. Ergo, more fuel to lower air ratio = black smoke.

Thanks got it checked seems it's a shredded Bolt in exhaust manifold but too expensive to sort it think.

Hi Charlie garages say it's a big job and more time than anything and when they hear screech they automatically say it's turbo but a friend had it on ramps and checked all and found this Bolt broken.had also had it all cleaned out exhaust, pipes, egr sensor and dpf so I know it's not turbo.just seems no one wants to fix it.

It's a snapped Bolt on cylinder head for holding exhaust on.I'm only writing what I am being told from guy who checked it and he doesn't have time to fix.
