My steering wheel is pretty manky

190k odd of use has taken its toll. I know its an airbagged wheel so I am on the hunt for advice in relation to

1) - What wheel fits, and wheels have people fitted (retaining oem style where possible - i.e a fiat logo etc)

2) - What method is used to change a steering wheel? I have done my Fabia before, but never attacked a Doblo. A little how-to would be awesome

Thanks (y)

Removal of any wheel usually requires releasing the airbag first, by releasing clips accessed via holes in the back of the wheel. Ensure battery disconnected first, leave for 10-15 minutes to allow capacitors to drain, so airbag won't go off.

Have you considered having the wheel covered in leather?

You'll be without the vehicle for a week or so.

Or search scrapyards or Ebay for a used replacement. These will be from crashed vehicles, so need to ensure they are still true and not bent from the impact.

Has anyone attempted to fit a wheel from a much more modern Doblo to a 2004 one before? If they were compatible I am tempted to just fit a wheel from a more modern van.

I found an £8 steering wheel cover from Halfords did the job, its gives better control by not being shiny/slippery you keep all the logos and it doesn't affect air bags, its a doddle compared to whole replacement.

Er do I sound lazy?

If it works for you, it is the right solution for you.
