It's silly question time!

Having lurked on here for a while, with the promise of getting a Doblo, it has finally materialised - in the form of a 2011 105bhp MultiJet 4 seater MPV, with a wheelchair access conversion.

Getting to know the car;
I want to disable the passenger airbag/s. The manual says to access the digital display (I don't have the "Multifunction" option). But there is no option for airbags. Does this mean I don't have a passenger airbag - how can I tell? The dash has "Airbag" embossed in it on the passenger side. The car has a "normal" front seat - the wheelchair is in the back!

As I have the DPF version :( the service intervals are variable. How can I tell how soon I'll need an oil change - or do I have to wait until it's 2000km away before I can find out?

I don't like the radio staying on after I've locked the car - again, how do I do this. Reference to the manual points me to the radio, where there is supposed to be an option to switch off the radio when the ignition is off. Guess what? No such option!

Any ideas chaps??

One question answered - to switch off the Passenger airbags, the engine has to be running!

The fiddling continues . . . . .

Hi. Often youll scroll through the menus via the button on end of wiper stalk
oil changes will be calculated by the vehicle judging engine oil quality. Use of vehicle will determine this further.
SEARCH oil degradation on the forum for more info

I think you'll find theres a complete 2010 handbook in the downloads section.

One of the nice things I found out about mine by accident (it's a 2004) is that if you turn off at night, you can "flash the headlights" and for every time you flash, the lights stay on for 30 seconds then turn off automatically. Lights the drive, helps you find the right key for the front door etc. ;)

Thanks Guys.

I do have the manual that came with the car, which I believe the correct one (I have no reason to doubt that it is the one that came with the car when new, although it is Edition 1, dated 10/2009). Likewise the Audio manual is a similar date - as per the one downloadable from here, but the radio is different - very similar to the earlier Doblo, a single DIN, oblong fascia model, not the shaped one described in the manual.

I would have expected there to be a countdown on the Service, but maybe it doesn't appear until it hits the 2000km to go mark.

I've just had delivery of (hopefully) suitable OBD leads, so I will be able to interrogate the ECU and find out that way. As I am old fashioned, I will probably change the oil and filters anyway - for what it costs, it's not worth messing with - the car's done 56000 miles and was last serviced at 41k.

Budget for a cambelt and water pump as well at that mileage...

Cam belt on the long term plan.
On these engines, Fiat say change it at 84,000 miles. Prudence dictates earlier though! I need to try and find out if I need any special tools for the job.

Is the Vauxhall Combo engine the same as the Fiat, or did they use a Vx one??

Found out I've another 7000 miles before it's due an oil change, with oil degradation at 40%. DPF looks OK too.
