Hi guys,

Has anyone upgraded their OEM plastic gear knob? Mine got all shiny and polished smooth with age and handling LOL. The aftermarket doesn't seem to offer anything. I think the silly push twist and pull action to lock the knob on the shaft key doesn't help.

I bought a Fiat Stilo OEM leather gear knob, as it said it was a push fit, so I took a gamble that it would be the same fitting arrangement as my Doblo, but I rolled snake eyes.

However I have made it fit, and I am very happy with it. If this is of interest to anyone, I could do a retrospective "How to" with some bonny pictures.

Ciao 4 now

I want to shorten mine, so I'd be interested. I haven't even worked out how to get the bl33ding original knob off the stick - it seems stuck fast :p

Sinny, try pushing it down hard, then twisting it to the far left then far right as hard as possible. Do this a few times. Then when it is far right, pull back towards yourself. Keep your face out of the way so that you don't hit yourself. If this doesn't work, twist to the far left then pull back towards yourself, taking care with your boat race again.

Once it has been off, it is easier to get it on and off again.
