hi i was forced into a small/medium puddle this evening and the engine management light came on , then all of a sudden i had no throttle at all

turned the iginition off and restarted and i got limp home mode up to 3k revs
got home and did a scan and got a p2135 code throttle/pedal sensor/switch a"/b" voltage correlation
2 faults
also its now playing up as if the starter is crapping out clicking like the solonoid is gone and then after 5 or 6 turns of the key it will either crank over turn slowly or crank for a few seconds then just stop, ivejust put a new battery on
although i had an 075 battery on there when i went to euro car parts they brought out an 027 battery and said this was the correct one for the van

any help appreciated

cheeeersss

Try this first:
Large earth strap to engine block from frame. Check it thoroughly. Pull it twist it. Then remake the connection to the block. This will give you the dodgy starter symptoms, and could also cause the other faults.
Don't know whether you've got the undercover on it, but especially if you havent a nice puddle will knock the lead out of the socket it's supposed to be soldered into.
Mine just sat there with the lead in the cup of the connector, dry jointed, and looking for all the world in A1 condition. I crimped mine then drilled it* and put a self tapper through it for luck. no problems since.

*after having taken the starter off and checked it :p

(We should make this a sticky ;) )

cheers sir, will check, i had a silly idea that it might be the problem, so i went out last night about 10pm and clipped a jump lead from the earth terminal on the battery to a bolt on the body work and she fired up first time no problems, then this morning after it had dried out it was fine on its own so i think you may be bang on

many thanks
have a blessed day
