hi,

i have just impulse bought a doblo '02 jtd sx. on test drive it didnt show much fault its clean no under body rust so ive bought.

anyway having been on a good run it seems to have a bit of a clonk from front passenger, on acceleration and potholes etc. it also has some judder from the clutch on take off (more so when engine hot) which from doing a search seems common. im hoping that these are connected and that it might be an engine mount wearing thin and not a clutch issue.

so my question, if there is an answer is if the doblo has any front bushes or mounts that commonly need replacing.

thanks (y)

I had an anti roll bar bush actually fall out of mine when I got overenthusiastic on a country road. It seems there isn't a great deal holding them in place.

its not really been the weather for crawling under cars, but im quite convince the clonk is from the rear gearbox mount.

is it normal to have freeplay in this mount, i can move it up and down by stretching under the car. my instint tell me its a goner.

today i span the wheels on a manhole cover, a loud clonk followed, im convinced it came from the center of the car same location as the rear mount.

one like this, seems quite straight forward to replace.

arb seem to be ok but whilst being cheap might be worthwhile replacing, once the weather improves ill whip the undertray off and jack it up for proper look.

oh the fun, ive braved the weather.

the car on jacks the play is coming from the bottom ball joint on lower suspension arm.

im going to replace the arm instead of fiddling with a ball joint kit, might be dearer but cheaper long term. eventually ill replace both sides.

on another note car cut out the other night and restarted when cold, so there is a rpm sensor in the post. ive just removed the engine undertray for access when it arrives. at least it looks clean underneath
