Car: 2005 (Old shape) Doblo JTD Passenger Variant.

Ive owned my Doblo for nearly a year now but recently have encountered a really annoying thing since I spend a lot of time in it.

I have no sound from any of the speakers.

It originally had the Blaupunk CD Player but I got so annoyed with it only turning on at such a low volume I sold it and bought a Pioneer CD/MP3/USB one.

Apart from THE most stupid arrangement to remove the top hud that covers the stereo and really, really tight area it fitted with no issues.

Fast forward 6 months and the sound started one moring but was cutting in and out and then would stop all together. It would intermittantly produce sound for another few days but then stopped over a month ago.

I assumed the Head unit was dead so bought a Kenwood. Upon plugging it in, it said 'Miss Wiring, check wiring and then power on' looking in the manual it says to check speaker terminals. A google suggests a short. Ive disconnected all the speakers one by one and still no sound is produced. The rear right speakers does pop when turning on the head unit and it appears its the only connector that ive tested that is getting power also.

Both head units are actually send 5-6v out on the speaker wires through the hardness but from there back I cant see where it goes, somewhere in the dash.

I cant see the short or bare wires (If thats actually the issue). Both radio fuses are not blown and the radio fuse by the right knee is intact (Radio powers on anyway) just to be sure I also put the Kenwood stereo in another car and powers on fine.

Is there a common point in the wiring that can cause issues?

Im stumped by it and apart from tracing all the wiring by removing half the interior im at a loss, apart from running new wiring!

Please help!!

I've cleaned the battery terminals in the hope it might be a iffy connection there but no luck.

Any ideas folks?

Hi there. Not sure if this is helpful or not, but the wiring on my Doblo seems to differ slightly from a standard ISO connector, even though they look the same.

For one the Battery positive and ignition positive are reversed. Second thing I had trouble with when fitting my Audiovox stereo was, by default the stereo showed 'Call in progress' or something similar, which muted the speakers. To remedy this I had to disconnect a (Blue iirc) wire on the stereo side of the Fiat 'ISO' plug.

This doesn't explain why yours worked for 6 months then stopped, but it might be relevant if you have a bare wire somewhere. My stereo had a diagram showing what each wire was for, perhaps you could find the relevant wire on yours and see if it's energised/try disconnecting it.

Thanks for your reply. Yup I had to switch the yellow and red wire for ignition and permanent live. Deffinately not in mute and even tried 2nd head unit.

I can't find a wiring diagram for the car either. I may have to run new wires which is a bummer!
