Hi, I have p0 235 on the code reader, I have wiggled the rod on the waste gate actuator, and it wiggles OK. It seems like the turbo is not working at all.

When I put the code reader on and clear the code, the code comes back even if I don't start the car. This suggests to me the sensor or wiring to it...hmmmm?

Surely if it was the turbo its self the code would not come back until I start she engine...does that make sense?


How do I test the sensor with a multi meter?

I can use the meter I just to know what to look for....

P0235 = Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Malfunction.

P0235 refers to the MAP sensor or is wiring, possibly the sensor just needs cleaning.

I have cleaned the MAP sensor...no joy... I have ordered a new one.
There is a utube vidio, if you search ....p0 235 sensor testing... It will take you to an RAC demonstration for a multijet .... Mine is a 2004 jtd. The colour of the wires is different as are the readings.

Eng off/ign on

Orange. = 5V
Blue. = 4.8 MV
Purple/yellow= 5.5mV

Eng running.

Orange. = 5V
Blue. = 4.4mV
Purple/yellow=5.8mV

Don't s'pose any one with a 2004/5 jtd wants to test theirs to compare the readings?
