Hi guys new here.
Just after a few pointers. I've just got a doblo 1.9 jtd 2004. It has lots of miles but was very cheap.
It is very slow like the turbo isn't boosting and smokes lots (black smoke) will only just manage 70 flat out and is a nightmare on hills.

So far I've blocked off the EGR valve, checked the pipes for holes, checked plenty of air comes out from the intercooler with foot on gas. Cleaned out map sensor (was very coked up) disconnect maf sensor. Turbo spins without much effort but there is a little oil coming out the compressor. You can hear the turbo a little bit but doesn't seem to really wiz like my old integrale did. It seems fine low down but after 2000 revs just has no power where you'd expect the turbo to kick in.

I'm thinking of plumming in a boost gauge to check boost levels, anyone know what standard boost is? 1 bar maybe? I'm also thinking manual boost controller to remove the electrics out of the equation

The thermostat is failed open so engine never really gets up to temp and engine management light is on for fan sensor. Ordered both these bits on eBay and will have them on soon.

Anyone had any experience like this with the jtd 8v lump?

Cheers
Steve
