my doblo 1.2 8v wont start
get recovered said probably starter motor so buy and fit still don't start
will only bump
went mechanic said might be ecu he put diagnostic on but couldn't tell him nothing kept saying make sure key is on
but will now only bump if the key code is off
he checked starter motor and does work
do you think this could be the problem or not
if i do get a new ecu can i just plug and drive or what do i have to do

basic car is the same as punto Panda of 2004 age..,
LOTS more info in those sections..,

TBH Mechanic sounds a bit out of their depth..

car should ONLY start after the IMMOBILISER has deactivated ( key-code)

sounds like a poor connection to starter / circuit..,
not uncommon for MAIN EARTH / ground cable to break down internally..

use a "jump-lead" as well to see if things improve..,
how many miles on Doblo..? - other age related things CAN happen..,

cables on stater are tight
tried using jump leads aswell as batter booster
its 2001 130k on the clock

where are you based ?,

sounds like a FIAT person , and MultiECUScan,
could rule out a LOT of these IF's + But's,

Sometimes lack of power can make the solenoid buzz or just click. What's the battery voltage. Also check for trapped bees.
