Great topic because I am also intent to transform my Doblo Cargo Maxi 1.9 MJT in the winter to a camper.
I am from Holland and I am not sure if the Doblo is high enough.
My Doblo don´t have a higher roof and as far as I know the minimum free high must be 130cm
But the pictures are very welcome to me.

This design is a pod system, so if l need the car back all l do is take the centre brace out, (also the back wooden seat) and slide the kitchen pod and bed pod out, they are not fixed in. This works well for me. Will put up more photos later when l have put the sink and cooker in.

Thank´s for the update.
We have that too in Holland but then I can not change the use of the Doblo into camper and that is what we want.
The roadtax goes down for 66% when it is a camper on paper.
But your pictures are very welcome because it give me a good impression what is possible.

I'm in the process of converting my Doblo van to a mini camper. It'll be more of a "day van" as I really just want somewhere to sleep plus it's main purpose is transporting my bike(s). I had a temporary bench bed in the back but that's been removed now and I'm looking at a more permant structure. I've removed the bulkhead and I was thinking along similar lines to your extending headboard. I'm assuming it's just a board on some hinges that folds over? If so, how are you supporting it from underneath if weight is put on it?

Its supported one end with the removable seat (see earlier photos) and at the other end with two swinging bolts and a old tent pole (The bolts are off a large gate) If l had a work shop could make something a bit better but this works fine, and lm not a light weight. And have put a large gate bold at the end of the Kitchen pod, just for a bit more support. Will show more photos later. The hinges on the head board are the splinting type.

Thanks for that. I don't have the seat unfortunately and my plan is to move and recline the drivers seat forward to allow a hinged extension to be folded forward and I'm looking for neat solution to support it from below. I'm thinking about some kind of fold/swing out brackets from the end of the bench/ bed. Off to the drawing board!

I used some fold out brackets on mine like these:

I got mine through haefele uk through my brother's account. I wouldn't sit on them but for just your head or feet while sleeping they work fine.

Just fitting the hob and the sink into the kitchen pod. forgot to look at the measurements of the hob so a bit oversized, but it ok.

Just taken my van to for its MOT, did not have to put the rear seat back in, l just took the gas bottle out and he was happy. And its passed, so happy. Now l can tidy things up and stick in the solar panel and ready to go off into the hills.
