Hi, has anybody had problems with the 1.9d (non turbo) belts. I have just found out that my new (to me) car has had three engines! Although the car covered high mileage the first one was replaced at 26k and the last one around 50k ago. The latest engine has had two belts although I'm not sure which ones as the previous owner just said 'belts' I'm presuming it was the timing belts as he said it wouldn't run. This has made me wonder if there is a problem on the design or if it was just bad workmanship in the hands of the dealership mechanics.
I looked into the Doblo before I bought it and didn't find anything so say that they had a belt weakness but many haven't knocked up the mileage yet. The fact that the problem wasn't sorted after three engines worries me!
Anybody know anything? I would hate to be parted from it as its the only thing that came close to having as much character as my old Volvo Estate which is still waiting in the wings just in case.
