Recently purchased a 2005 1.9 JTD 105 Dynamic from a used car dealer at the weekend.

I've noticed that my tyres are 175/70/14 84 T

I believe they need to be 88 load rating and XL/Reinforced?

Can the dealer be held liable or is it my fault for not checking?

Is my insurance void with these tyres?

Bit of a pain having fork out on 4 new tyres so soon into ownership as they are currently loads of tread depth on them.

Any thoughts? My intention is to buy 4 new tyres with an 88 load rating, something like Avon ZT5.

A tyre with a load rating of 84 has a max carring capacity of 1000kg check this against you max permitted loads on the vin plate
