I've fitted a Sony head unit into the 'bus' to replace the Blaupunkt unit that was in there. Now when I turn ignition off I lose all presets/bluetooth settings etc. I've looked at posts on here & it several mentions. Is it really as easy as changing the red & yellow wires over?
I would still like it to be ignition controlled rather than permanently live.


I had a similar/same Blaupunkt in my Cooper & seem to remember having battery problems with it after I changed the headunit but cannot remember if that was before or after I changed the wiring.

One wire is always on to save the presets, the other is ignition controlled so the radio will go off with the ignition. Yes they just need to be swapped.

I just need to learn to tolerate the security beeps of Sony or install an amplifier. Does anyone know if the Sony unit has to have an amplifier fitted to stop the beeps or can you just put plugs on?
