Hi there I'm new to the forum.

Was driving home on Saturday in my 2008 Doblo 1.3 multi jet when I herd what can only be described as a small pop like fuse and then engine completely died not splutter just dead I was doing no more then cruising speed 50mph as nice sunny day.

Once I coasted to safe location I tried to start but to no avail, a check engine warning light was on so a got a code reader and it showed insufficient fuel injector pressure and cam position sensor malfunction. Great I thought only something simple hmmmm brought sensor today and replaced clearing codes still no luck, thought something didn't quite sound right as engine almost sounded seized and then turned over reel fast so I removed cam sensor and got friend to look at cam whilst I turned the key Cam didn't move :( so I'm guessing this now means that at 90k the Timing chain has snapped GREAT!!!

Here's hoping that if you're right the piston and valve damage will be minimal.

Thanks matey fingers crossed, just gotta get it recovered now and stripped. The annoying thing is just spend £1500 for re-spray and sign writing typical haha

Yep just got it confirmed as snapped chain, now for the strip down fingers crossed minimal damage

If the pistons have hit any valves (there will be a mark on the piston) then this will have weakened the valve to a certain degree.

I would seriously consider replacing any valves that have had contact with a piston. If not, the constant slamming shut as the engine is running will weaken them even more. If the head comes off a valve the damage will render the engine useless.

Valves should only cost around 12/16GBP each.
