General Banging Doblo!!!

Long time no comment, finally got round to sorting this problem out. Turns out it wasn't the shockers or the bushes, but infact the plastic sleeve in the bottom shock absorber bushes. He fixed with sikaflex now like brand new so don't replace shockers or bushes just plastic sleeve £20 of a job, that said he is the best mechanic around.(y)(y)(y)(y) T14086 so it looks like poor bonding.

Leaf springs? WTF? They are coil's all around on the post 2010 Dobbies last time I looked!

I'm at 65K on my 2010 dobbie. On my fourth R/H rear shock absorber, third L/H rear (including the originals). All replaced under warranty or as a good will gesture by the dealership(labour)/fiat(parts) as I think they know these are a problem area on the dobbies. Also had front upper suspension rubbers replaced under warranty. I know the roads are generally crap and un-mainted in our little county of Rutland, but sheesh, just 15k per shock absorber is a dreadful turnover!

Jono.

Like I said if their making a racket then its just the plastic sleeve. 70,000 none replaced.

I wish I had been that lucky with my 2011 Dobby. Five separate suspension problems in 45,000 miles :bang:

My 2005 sounds like all the bolts have worked loose on the back suspension over slow uneven roads but is fine at speed over any surface
all 4 shock absorber bushes are in good order and after reading a few old posts I looked at the anti roll bar bushes
there was a tiny amount of wear in both - when you jack the back up you can just about rattle the arb in the bush
Fiat don't sell the bushes separately and this has been well documented on FF, and will rip you off for the complete bar
there's a seller on ebay who does split bushes, but you have to drill out the old spot welds from the mounting brackets and be able to re weld the brackets after you have replaced the rubber
I've learned to live with it!
