:confused:AS A NEWBY. AM AFTER SOME ADVISE. I HAVE A 1.3 MULTIJET DOBLO 57 PLATE. HAS 825000 ON CLOCK.
WHEN IT IS WARM IT IS CHURNING OUT SMOKE WHICH IS BLUE/GREY COLOUR AND STINKS OF DIESEL.
WE HAVE HAD A TERRA CLEAN, INJECTORS CHECKED, OIL AND FILTER CHANGE, BUT IT STILL SMOKES

IT HAD A NEW EGR (THINK ITS CALLED) THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT COMES ON WHEN WE HAVE DRIVEN AT SPEED DOWN THE MOTOR WAY FOR A WHILE. BUT AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS IT GOES OFF. DOES ON OCCASIONS LOSE REV POWER.

WE WERE TOLD THE ECU WOULD SHOW MORE PROBLEMS IF IT WAS FAULTY. WHEN THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT COMES ONE THE CODE TELLS US ITS THE TURBO BOOST SENSOR BUT THIS HAS BEEN CLEANED.

PLEASE ANY IDEAS SO I CAN KEEP MY VEHICLE AND NOT GET RID FOR A CRAP PRICE?

Welcome along (y)

I was going to comment that eight hundred and twenty five thousand miles is a fair old amount for a thirteen hundred :D

Seriously, if she's dumping diesel down the exhaust it could be the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is gubbed or the sensors are telling the ECU lies.....

Mine had the same problem, but it turned out the DPF had been stolen

It was delivered that way after I bought it from a garage

Anyway, one sensor was missing, the other was plugged in, so it wasn't reading anything that made sense and instructed the ECU to do a regeneration.

In simple terms, it dumps a heap of raw diesel down the exhaust to burn inside the DPF and burn off the soot inside it.

Apparently, it's a fabulous idea to cut down on emissions by creating a different kind of emissions :yuck:

Trouble is, when they go wrong (which is a lot) they create more harm than good and cost a bloody fortune to boot

I would suggest looking there first, then perhaps having the injectors checks for leak off (dribbling fuel into the cylinders when they should be closed).

It's possible it's a faulty DPF sensor though.

Another thought struck me, check intercooler and associated pipework for leaks.

A hole in the pressure system could flag up a fault code and produce blue/grey smoke

there was a pipe that needed changing on the intercooler which was done. the mech. had a look a the dpf states that it a bit odd only on pipe going into it. at first thought i might have been the model with blu add (think thats what its called) - but when ever the engine light comes one the code is always the turbo boost sensor so pricing one up. dont want to get rid

but thank you will try the suggestions
