Hello I'm a new 2006 1.3 multijet doblo cargo owner. Love the van but only had it for a week.
So when I got it the doors and locks where a bit stiff so I cleaned the van then gave all the locks a good dose of wd40. Now the ignition barrel is solid it won't even turn?? Iv only got the one key( blue one) so can't try a different one. The key seems to be rounded at the end is this correct?

If any one has any ideas I'm all ears
Thanks Harry

hi I had exactly the same problem and I went down the wd40 route ,and it took me a long time to remove the ingnition lock ,my friend is a automotive locksmith so I asked his advice and he cut me a new key off a photo I sent him and when he brought me the new key straight away you could notice my old key was considerably worn on the end ,the new key works all locks perfectly and ignition great

The only input I can offer is THROW AWAY THE TIN OF WD40!!!

It is ok for freeing up rusty ****, but if you want something lubed, use Silicone Spray or 3 in 1 spray on oil (best stuff in the world in my eyes).

My fave trick with awkward locks is to get a nice, soft lead pencil & rub it all over the key, get plenty on then shove the key in & work it around, repeat a few times as required. the graphite is a great lubricant & unlike liquid lubes, it won't freeze up & dirt/grit/fluff etc doesn't stick to it.
And, as john says, it is possible that the steering wheel is simply jammed tight against the steering lock.

Ahhh yes, an old (and mostly forgotten) trick.

The best pencil would be a carpenter or joiner's pencil, you know the one, big & flat with a big lead (y)
