Looking at buying a new high pressure fuel pump for my 1.3 Jtd. The part I need says "Coding may be required".

What does this mean?

some Modern (HP) pumps are coded,
idont think JTD is,

what is the year of the car,?

fuel pumps are not coded on jtd.... and immobiliser is built into bsi unit ... so no probs

Coded pumps have to be re-programmed to the vehicle or Virginised or
it will not start, (imobilised)

idont think the JTD pumps, are coded, not sure about the later ones,
but id presume they wouid still be on the Bosch mechanical set up

you wouid be able to tell off the pump,if its got a Module box on it all Armoured up it will be coded,

The pump on the 1.3 JTd does not need coding . Its just a pump with no wires going to it .
