hi i have a squeel coming from the front belt side of my engine of my jtd .
i have replaced both belts both tensioners the cam belt pulley wheel and the water pump but still the same.
it squeels most on start up and when onload at pulling away.
i have also run the engine without the aux belt attached to check power steering pump and alternator but still the squeel so you can see i have tried most.
so help please.

Just a thought but does that cam belt turn smoothly all the way round when rotated by hand via the bottom crank bolt?
Only mention because when I initially changed my cam belt, although all the marks lined up on every rotation, I had a high resistance point. In the end I decided not to take the risk, and refitted the belt, only this time feeding the belt on from the crank pulley first. This cured the problem and the belt turned smoothly all the way round on every hand rotation.

thanks for reply i fitted the belt 2 times and the noise remained also the noise was there before i replaced the belts.

When you replaced the belt, did you do it as a whole kit (idler & tensioner) or just the belt?

If you did the kit, it could be the belt is too tight (some kits are designed to squeal if the tension is overdone).

If you did just the belt, I would stop and get the whole kit as it could be a warning that either the idler or tensioner pulley bearings have given up and are about to part company

Orrr....if you didn't replace the water pump at the same time.....
