Evening all,
My dobby (a 1.3 MultiJet Diesel) has suffered battery failure, and thus a replacement is required. Not an overly complicated situation at first glance, however....
Europarts (and most other battery suppliers) insist that the following two types of battery are suitable for the doblo:
Type 100 (approx 278x175x175mm - LxWxH)
Type 027 (approx 243x175x190mm - LxWxH)
A further option is offered on europarts for the 1.9 Multijet;
Type 096 (approx 278x175x190mm - LxWxH)
The battery currently fitted, (presumably OE as the previous owner - the vehicle's 1st keeper - never had to replace it) is:
Type 075 (approx 243x175x175mm - LxWxH)
-----------------------------------
Assuming that the type 100 is actually for the 1.9 (as based on it's physical size it would apear that is is too large for the 1.3's battery tray) my questions are thus:
1/ other than the lower profile, is there any difference between the 075 and 027? Other than the physical size, all other ratings appear to be similar.
2/ How much power is required to turn the 1.3 M-Jet engine? Whilst i'm aware that "bigger is better", the CCA (Cold Cranking Ampage) ratings of the batteries offered up as suitable replacementsb seem to suggest that the 570a rating of the current unit may be a little excessive.
-------------------------------------
An additional challenge to the forum denziens:
Take a look under your bonnets, then post up what type and rating of battery you have installed and the type/size of engine your dobby has. I'm interested to see what the result will be....
