Has anyone attempted to replace a water pump on a 1.9D doblo
Mines was leaking and as I found the culprit (broken bolt) I wondered if anyone has any tips on how to extract the broken bit.
I don't have the equipment to remove the whole engine and I can't see any way of getting to it with a drill and reverse thread extractors.

Not sure if the 1.9D is similar to the 1.9JTD but if it is I would say it's a removal of timing belt and cam sprocket. I did the timing belt and water pump earlier this year and nearly ruined the new water pump by trying to force it under the cam sprocket cog. In the end I elected to remove the sprocket cog and it was easy peasy to change the water pump.
Is the broken stud snapped off inline with the casing. Wondering if you can get a stud extractor on it with and 90 degree drill attachment - one of them Irwin stud extractors. If you can get something on it I don't think it will be hard to remove because they are very small bolts (6mm or similar).
Do you think if you slackened the timing belt, would that give you enough room to get on the broken stud? Is the stud broken flush to the surface of the water pump? If it is, reckon by removing the water pump you potentially will have enough stud exposed to get an extractor on it.
Best of luck with it
