I am going to install a CB radio in my Doblo but need some help / advice on where to mount it; run the power cable and run the antenna cable.

My thoughts were of connecting the power cable to somewhere in the fuse box prehaps the same place as the radio, so that it is it sync with key. No idea how to do this though, any advice welcome.

Antenna will be run along the inside of the car, out the boot and onto the roof (mag mounted antenna)

CB could be mounted between steering wheel and drivers door on the dash.

Dan

Hi mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

The easiest place to take the power supply is probably from behind the cigarette lighter. Simply splice into the cables (+/-). Obviously ensure that it is protected by a fuse correctly.

You could also take it from the ignition switched live. There may not be a switched live for the radio depending on your model as it may be CAN BUS controlled.

Thanks for the suggestions alan,

I have opted to use the cigarette lighter option but have connected to it inside the dash fuse box. My next question is though, is there an easy place i can get an earth in the fuse box. At the moment it is taped to a crossbar, not really a good earth. I was thinking could replace the tape with a jubilee clip or similar. was going to undo a bolt and put it in there, but they looked quite important.

Reards,
Dan
