Please can anybody advise me or know if the gear selector cables are common across the earlier Doblo range (not sure but I'm guessing Mark I)
I've bought an 02 plates 1.9 JTD ELX purely for the panels rather than have my 05 repaired/tidied up. The problem with this donor vehicle is that it's stuck in gear and the independent garage I bought it off suspected the gear linkage cables rather than the gearbox or clutch. The clutch does seem to function OK and that fact that we had to press the clutch in to be able to move the vehicle supports the theory that the clutch is no the problem. In some respects, it looks to good to scrape after I've had the bits and bobs I want so I'm thinking that a might do swaps and if cheap enough, have a go at repairing it and either selling on as a cheap motor to recoup the £300 it owes me, hence the question regarding the cables.

Thanks T
In theory, with the cables unclipped, and I then can select the gears/neutral manually, this should give me a good indication that the gearbox is OK.
If that does prove to be case, reckon it will be worthwhile starting further investigation into the linkage/cables with the view to get it road worthy again.
Kick myself because there was a brand new set of cables listed on ebay last week with a 99p start price. Somebody jumped in and got them for £20 + P&P. For £35 total, under the circumstances, would have been worth taking a chance.
