Hi fellow Dobloids,

On Monday we took our 1.4 8v Doblo for a minor service, MoT and cambelt change (30k miles but 5 years old) to our village independent garage.

Now we get the engine warning flashing orange after a few minutes. It seems to be taking longer to happen each time. Was 2 or 3 minutes, now 15 minutes. It happens at about 55 to 60 mph.

The garage read the fault codes with a Snap-on Tools reader which alleged a misfire on cylinders 1 and 3. (they are commoned – lost spark system). Unlikely – it is running really well, so I don’t think that the belt is misaligned.

The battery has not been off and the service did not involve interfering with the ignition as such.

Any experience / suggestions?

If it started after the timing belt change I suspect it needs a 'phonic wheel learn' (which is common after a belt change) or the timing is out which I doubt if it runs ok otherwise.

Having done some research on this and other forums (fora?) to work out what you meant by a 'phonic wheel learn', I suspect you have hit metaphorical the nail on the head. I will speak to the garage to see if they did it. I suspect not. As an independent, I suspect they may be unaware.

Thank you.:worship:

I tried the Punto 1.2 'phonic wheel learn' as below. Light still flashing occasionally. (n) Is this correct for the 1.4 Doblo?

Thanks,

"Learning the phonic wheel,
The engine must be up to temperature (75 degrees plus), and the engine needs to be rev rapidly above 5000 revs and allowed to rev down on its own. The easy way to do this is just to stab at the throttle pedal and release it, the engine revs need to come down on their own so as soon as shes reached 5000 revs remove your foot completely from the throttle. This needs to be done three times in a row and provided you have done this correctly the light will stop flashing, switch the engine off and leave the ignition off for the power latch period (60 seconds) before restarting."

I tried Multipla BiPower 'phonic wheel learn' as below 10 times, but Light still flashing. Then I switch from metan to gasoline and try again, and yellow Light
turn Off. Can you tell me is it correct procedure? What if my Multipla learned parameters for gasoline instead of methane. What now?:bang:
