Does anyone know an easy or should I say "easier" way of removing & replcing the EGR on a 1.3.

it's tucked so tightly behind the block - damn impossible to get at.

Any ideas anyone?

I suppose I could remove the black plastic air filter housing for a bit more space.
How does that come off????

Anyone.

Try it on a panda:bang: it's not often I throw the dolls out the pram but I did the first time I done one. The GP is still awkward but you have slightly more room. Never done doblo but it looks alot easier because of the large engine bay.

What year is the doblo because later ones came apart in situ but otherwise it comes will the EGR cooler and requires extensive stripdown which is why I replace the EGR at the same time.

Its a 56 plate

Was going to replace the whole egr - is that what you're asking?

Awkward - that is an understatement.

Clean it.....! - You would still have to remove it to clean it - If I could get it off, a new one would definitly be going back.

I think I may have to get the car up on a ramp of sorts & see if I can gain access behind the block - The heater matrix pipes are in the way:nutter: - The bolt heads face downwards:nutter: - One of the pipes in the way is attached to the EGR, so you cant get it out the way until the egr is off...!:nutter:

I can get the 2 large bolts out that screw into the block, the three smaller ones that screw around the circular casing - Well what are you meant to do...?????

It's as if the engine needs to come out to gain access....!!!!

There is a way to remove it.

I've found the secret - still bloomin hard though.

Without any experience working on a car before it took me 7 hours before i almost got it off. Unfortunately i rounded of one of the torxes that hold the egr to the cilinder head so i had to put everything back together. Will try to get that bolt of somehow, quit difficult since you need a mirror to even see it..
I´m planning next time with more time to take the intake manifold off and clean it, it looked very dirty in there..
