I have a Doblo 1.3 multijet 16V and got a check engine light this week.

Multiecuscan reported "particulate filter 1st level of clogg. exceeded".

The filter clogging was about 25%.
Today I did a long trip (90m) and it went up to 40%.
Latter I did a Forced Regeneration, that completed successfully and it went up to 85%.

Do this values mean the opposite, i.e., that it is 85% clean?
If not, what can be wrong?
Also, wasn't it suppose to warn me with the DPF light and not with the check engine light?

Thanks!

First of all, did the light go out and stay out?

As for the backwards numbers, that would seem like your interpretation is correct. Also, my dpf has clogged a few times and always put on the engine light rather than the dpf light. Several people have reported the same.

Yes. The light went out after the longer trip (90min). But since it was displaying a clogging of 40%, and I didn't know it counted upside down, I still did the forced regen.

It is not very usual for this kind of reversed indication, as even some people have values over 100%, so maybe this is specific to this model or the software is not interpreting the value correctly.

So the light is out now and I will monitor the clogging state in the following weeks to make sure it is going down (more clogged).

I will also schedule this car to do at least a long trip once a month.

BTW (off-topic), anyone knows a software as good as multiecuscan for Renault cars?

Thanks!

25% is low blockage, 110-130% is high blockage.

I suspect there is a fault elsewhere and likely to need a software update also.

This updates must be done by the dealer? Can at least check if my ECU is running latest or not?

The car have since run without any problem, at least until today.

I imagine the fault clogging reading was because the car might have to run for a while for it to estimate the clogging properly after a forced regeneration.

My current issue is weird.

The filter Clogging was slightly over 100% by Wednesday. I started a trip of about 500km and it regenerated properly.
Today the Engine light come on and the error was P1206 - 1st level of clogging exceeded.
The last regeneration was 447,5km ago, and the current clogging is 67,49%.

So, the +100% and some failed regenerations didn't trigger the Engine light, but now at only 67,49% and without any failed attempt to regenerate I get the Engine light?

Weird...

The car did over 200km without stopping and it didn't try to start the regen. The temperature was for sure enough.

I can't find any relation at all with the Clogging % and the Clogging errors.

Is there any EU law that would mandate FIAT do explain what are the conditions that trigger this errors?

It is mandatory to provide a user guide at EU. I'm not sure the law allows them to hide the description and trigger conditions for this warnings.

I will ask them and see how it ends...
