Please help. I have a 1.9 JTD doblo (2002) with an airbag fault.

I recently had the time clock resetting to zero on cold wet mornings. Then battery was flat once. At some point the dreaded red air bag failed symbol came up. Got battery checked with a load tester and confirmed it was on it way out. Changed battery.

Air bag fault still there.

Connected up multiescuscan and confirmed following errors that will not clear:
----------------------------------------------
14 passenger air bag exclusion switch -Plausible - intermittent - 4 (this is a new fault in last couple of days)

01 Control Unit fault - unknown/ internal - intermittent - 193

05 passenger airbag off lamp - unknown/ no power supply - intermittent -49

1A Airbag control light - unknown/ no power supply - intermittent - 49

02 ECU supply voltage - value too low - 69
----------------------------------------------
Have taken apart connectors to battery, cleaned them (abrasive paper) re-connected them

Have undone black earth cable to back of gear box, cleaned, re connected.

Have examined passenger airbag switch, looks ok.

Still errors will not clear.

I cannot find the ECU to check connections. Any ideas ?

Found the airbag sensor/controller. It is located inside the seated area, under the gear stick, at the front just by the pedals. It has a box cover over it that has a few finger fasteners holding it on. I think you will need to take the gear stick lower hard plastic surround off to really access it.

Still need some help working out what is wrong please. Thanks, K.

So errors still not clearing. Multiecuscan support says that the software should clear the codes and I will not get any better result going to a fiat dealer. I am thinking it has errored so much that it is in the same state as if the car had crashed.

I am reaching the conclusion I need to either get the memory cleared by a specialist who can work at eprom level or buy another airbag ecu. Bummer.

I think the lesson learnt is to every couple of years, logon and clear all errors on all ecu's to make sure the memory does not fill up.

If the data helps anyone else: The ECU op time is 193490 mins since first error (presume minor errors with fault light only come on in last few weeks). Key switches since first failure is 255.

This won't make a difference, code should only appear when there is a problem. If they don't clear the problem either still exists, or you've a fault with the ECU.

Thanks, I have tried all of that and the errors are still there.
I think I will have to source a another airbag ecu.
