For a long time the headlights very occasionally would go out when flicking to main beam. A quick return to dip and then back to main beam would resolve the problem. A couple of months ago I realised the flash facility was not working. I am about to investigate both problems. If anyone has any experience of these issues I would be glad to hear about solutions.

Is the flash function part of the MOT?

Thanks

Needs a new stalk, flash is not part of mot.

Had the same issue as have many others.
Its a well known problem caused by dirty/not very good contacts in the switch, there are a few threads on this. Basically pull out the rubber sealing flap at the base of the stalk and squirt contact cleaner into the switch while moving it about. Can get contact cleaner from halfords or maplins.

I had the same issue & a £3.99 tin of Contacts cleaner from Halfords did the trick. Why can't every problem be this easy to fix?(y)
