Help,

I've just bought the above van and its started to belch out clouds of blue smoke on start up & when driven/revved. It seems to be using quite a bot of oil. When the caps removed m getting a lot of smoke coming out. The oil light is on then goes of then comes back, cant seem to work out what its doing. I think ive got Oil pressure issues & worn Pistons rings ? Is this normal for a 116k miles engine with part history to 86k.

I've checked the oil level, its fine.
Checked the egr - buts its definitely oil as its blue/grey smoke. egr is usually black.
Checked Oil for water contamination - no issues.
Checked Water for Oil contamination - no issues.
Think I will swap the engine with 1 from a fiat multipla 1.9 jtd.

Also could any tell me how to wire in an after market remote locking kit ?

have you looked at the air filter as a stuffed might start sucking from engine.
 
116000 Miles//187000 Km, could just be worn out. Was it used in constant stop and go operation, like a delivery van before you got it? Lots of cold starts and short distances when the engine never warms up is always bad for engine life.
 
Hi and thanks for the replies. Aplogies for the late reponses, checked the air filter & it was fine, checked the intercooler & oil poured out if it. Took the turbo of to find that the shaft had snapped in half. Put another turbo on & now the oil pressure light stays on. The turbo shafts only snap due to lack of lubrication which leads me to think the oil pressure has & is low causing turbo failure and excessive wear on the rings/bores.

Took the oil cap off oil is there not spittign much out though, and hardly any back pressure.

Runs sweet as a nut but as soon as i rev it it misfires and throws out loads of smoke.

Yes its been used for deliveries lots of stops and starts.

Engine pistons rings are shot ! Put an engine in out of a 115 jtd multipla, what a sod of a job, had to change all sorts of ancillary components.
