The AM Band on my Doblo's original Blaupunkt cd/radio has stopped working. Maybe this is divine intervention to prevent me hearing Alan Green's commentary on 5 Live during the Euros but I'd still like to listen to some of the other programmes.

Is there a fix for this or do I need a new radio?

Hi Pat,

Lol maybe it is just protecting you, or plug fallen out back, arial problem, cable problem who knows although I think the AM band is normally off a ferrite core internal to the radio, FM is from the arial.
One thing I do know is the original radio isnt up to much and £50 quid spent in argos would get you a better replacement. I have an original doblo tape/radio foc if youre happy to pay for postage.

Cheers, John

John, thanks for the offer but I need the cd player. Someone elsewhere suggested the aerial connection might be the problem so I'll try fiddling with that. If I have no joy I'll just put up with it until I trade in this Doblo for a newer model.

Hey Postman Pat,

If it does turn out to be unit, then I have a spare original Blaupunkt CD/Radio I took out my old Dobbie, with the code... For the cost of the postage you are welcome to it.

Best wishes,

Jon.

Pat, remove the stereo & throw it in the bin, seriously they are awful!

I brought a secondhand Kenwood CD player with aux input which is great for phones, IPOdsand even the kids portable DVD players as the sound quality is night & day to the original piece of junk...£15 ebay;)
