Hope someone can help.
I have a 2006 1.3 Mj with an intermittent engine noise.
It happens when the car is ticking over not under load, sort of a rattle/click that continues very briefly after the engine is shut down.
It seems to happen when warm, and sometimes it disappears for a few days, but always returns.
I've had a garage look briefly at it, they 'spun the alternator' to check 'alternator clutch'?? but found nothing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked pulleys for bearing play or Air conditioning pump/ clutch? My multipla had a similar sounding problem an it was the pulley bearing.

I'll get that checked out.
